The Reelers Trail forms part of the long distance Witton Weavers Way (which we will be leading on 22nd June 2025).This 8 mile Reelers Trail, near Blackburn, covers a beautiful rural landscape where historical sites of industry, farming and religion combine to produce a fascinating trail.
We will start by heading along the Leeds Liverpool canal, before heading through Abbey Village and onto Tockholes, through woodland and past beautiful reservoirs.
Some road, farmland and forest walking with a number of stiles. A relatively easy walk with a couple of short steep ascents.
Approx. 805 ft elevation (245m)
Expected to take approx. 4.5 hours (including rest breaks).
Well behaved, friendly (with people and other dogs) dogs are welcome, but must be agile enough to climb stiles or small enough to be lifted. Please also note that we will be passing through many fields of sheep, so be prepared to have your dog on a lead for the majority of this route.
This small-group guided walk is professionally led by a qualified Mountain Leader and Outdoor First Aider / Mental Health First Aider, with full PL insurance. Booking is essential as places are limited and cost £12 per person.
Details of what to bring and where to meet will be emailed or sent in the WhatsApp chat on booking, but please get in touch if you need further details beforehand. We walk in ALL weather, so please take note of the Kit List that will be sent out on booking.
