Reel Reflections Series - Where the Wild Things Are

Join us for an evening of cinematic exploration at Art of Counseling! Our Reel Reflections Series presents Where the Wild Things Are — a visually rich and heartfelt adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s beloved story. This film tenderly explores themes of childhood emotion, imagination, and the longing to belong.

As the film unfolds, you’ll be invited into a space of creative response, using sketching, doodling, or journaling to connect with its expressive imagery and emotional resonance in real time.

After the screening, stay for a guided discussion to reflect on the film’s symbols, relationships, and meaning. Together we’ll explore what this imaginative journey reveals about inner worlds, emotional expression, and the wild places within us all.

We're using an economic justice sliding scale to price our tickets. This is inspired by The Green Bottle Economic Justice Scale. This approach allows each person to choose what they pay based on their access to resources. This helps make community events like this more equitable and accessible.

When you purchase your tickets, you'll see tickets labelled Seed/Tier 1, Bloom/Tier 2, and Canopy/Tier 3:

🌱 Seed/Tier 1 ($15): Nurture your own growth while receiving support from the community. This reduced rate is supported by those contributing at higher tiers.

🌸 Bloom/Tier 2 ($20): Choose this ticket if it feels comfortable to you. This ticket price covers the true cost of the event, helping it flourish.

🌳 Canopy/Tier 3 ($25): Choose this rate if you have greater access to resources. Your contribution helps make lower-cost tickets available for others.
