About this Event
Join Sue Luxon for a painting workshop with the gouache medium following by an instructed workshop in painting a reef fish, chosen for its pleasing shape and bright colours. You will learn how to mix and apply gouache with water to achieve a bright, matte finish on paper.
This workshop is suitable for all painting levels and all materials are supplied.
Gouache paints are often called 'opaque watercolours' as they share characteristics with both watercolour paints and acrylic paints. Like watercolours, gouache is water-soluble but has a creamier consistency than watercolours and is more vibrant due to the higher pigment count.
This workshop is presented as part of the exhibition Life Below Water at Murky Waters Studio. Life Below Water acknowledges support for the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and the Townsville City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland
Please do not attend if unwell. Full refund available if the event is cancelled due to COVID related circumstances.
