Reed Foehl Band Presents the 3rd annual Holiday Celebration at The Bennington Theater featuring Jefferson Hamer, Jeff Berlin and Putnam Murdock.
Reed Foehl was born into a musical family and raised in a small town in New England. His Americana-folk music tells stories with a voice that pushes boundaries while paying homage to tradition. Foehl released his sixth studio album – "Wild Wild Love" – in 2022, marking his second studio collaboration with The Band of Heathens out of Austin, Texas, who both produced and played on the album.
“Reed has the ability to transport the soul, a true master. One of the great songwriters of our time." –Gregory Alan Isakov
Jeff Berlin is a lifelong drummer whose background is primarily in Americana and Jazz music. A well-known and highly sought-after veteran of the Boston music scene for both recording and performance, Jeff has lived in central Vermont for over fifteen years and continues to find inspiration in the natural environment around him.
Jefferson Hamer is a guitarist, songwriter, traditional musician, and producer of studio recordings. He is best known for his collaborations with Anais Mitchell (Child Ballads, recipient of a BBC2 Folk Award), Sarah Jarosz (as guitarist and harmony singer on her Grammy-nominated Blue Heron Suite), Session Americana, and other solo artists including Kristin Andreassen, Reed Foehl, and Laura Cortese. His original songs are featured on his self-released albums and singles, including the full-length Alameda. Perhaps his most enduring collaboration is The Murphy Beds, a harmony-rich folk duo with Irish musician and songwriter Eamon O’Leary, featuring a self-titled LP and the follow-up Easy Way Down. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Berlin has contributed to numerous recording projects and has worked with artists such as Catie Curtis, Jeffrey Foucault, Bow Thayer, Jabe Beyer, Meg Hutchinson, and many more. One of his most recent recordings is Further On: The Songs of Billy Conway, a tribute to the late drummer and songwriter best known for his work with Morph*ne. Jeff has also composed and produced two of his own instrumental jazz-rock/Avantgarde albums which can be enjoyed on Bandcamp.
Singer/songwriter Putnam Murdock performs a combination of old-time folk, country, and blues music. His songwriting presents an honest voice of Americana music. As a one-man band or a full ensemble, the intimacy remains obvious in either his contemporary sonic collages or his classic ballads. Murdock performs around the northeastern US and is expected to release a new record in early 2024 titled Long Time To Make Old Friends, which contains all songs written with long-time friend and co-writer Foehl.
