These are the official monthly meetings for Redwood Pride, a nonprofit Dreammaker program of The Ink People Center for the Arts. These meetings are also open to the public. The meeting is both in person and via Zoom. The in-person meetings are held at the Jefferson Center in Eureka located at 1000 B St. in room 6.Those who are interested in supporting Redwood Pride, working with us in some way, and those that seek to help in their own way are welcome to attend. The meetings are generally for planning, organizing, coordinating, conversations about relevant topics, and brainstorming.
At these meetings we also figure out what we are doing for events, fundraisers, and other involvements Redwood Pride could have in the Queer community as well as the overall community beyond that. This is also where we figure out who is doing what tasks or assignments, some of the paperwork, overall organizational topics, and other various aspects of the nonprofit.
We are always looking for reliable volunteers, as many of us started out by simply helping out where we could. This is where you could get started too! We could use some people to help with things ranging from general tasks, outreach, networking, event personnel, support staff, and organizational positions. There are plenty of ways in which you may be able to find a nice niche. You may even find out that you are aptly skilled at something in a way that is better described as a hidden talent.
Attending the meetings is --the easiest-- way to be able to become involved with Redwood Pride and let us know if you may have a knack for something that could turn out to be extremely helpful to the organization and our Queer community.
