Learn the complexities of reduction linocut, a printmaking technique where one block is carved, printed, re-carved, and printed again to create a multicolored print from one matrix. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the step-by-step process of designing, carving, and printing a linocut using reduction methods. Each stage involves cutting away more of the linoleum block and printing a new color over the same print, resulting in a final piece that showcases color, linework, and layering.
Note: Participants need to plan to bring a 4"x6" sketch to work from. Previous experience in linocut printmaking is required.
