Welcome to the Rediscover Family Traditions at Holiday Open House event on Saturday December 7th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Join us at the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum 7313 Sharpsburg Pike on Route 65 , outside of Boonsboro MD.
Explore the Homestead from 2-4 pm and enjoy traditional outdoor bread oven baked bread and while you are there, you can get out of the chill, and get warm by the indoor hearth. Straight from the outdoor oven Sourdough Loaves are $12 (at this time we only accept cash)
Kids will love visiting with Santa in his sleigh in our Main Museum filled with history of businesses and homes from the past, and bring a letter to send to Santa from the Keedysville Post Office on display.
Explore the 19th century village and stop in to see our broom maker hard at work or buy a handmade kitchen broom.
In the spirit of the holidays, complementary punch and cookies will be available
Kids will have fun making Christmas Crafts with the University of Maryland Extension Master Gardeners in the main museum. And remember to peruse our Gift Shop for your last minute Christmas Shopping ( Cash/Check) only.
We have new, interpretive signage in the Village so you can appreciate the contributions of African American's during early Washington County in trades of Blacksmithing and Broommaking.
