The dedication is hosted by Baltimore Peninsula who have graciously allowed us to relocate the monument on their property after its original location at the former Gould Street power plant became unavailable. The new location is on the waterfront just east of Sagamore Distillery and placed at the original location of Fort Covington which played a significant role during the bombardment of Fort McHenry in 1814. The historical monument, listed on the Maryland Military Monument list, was originally dedicated on 12 September 1914 and contains a cannon used during the Battle of Baltimore.
