Home Modifications Academy
Aidacare, in partnership with Qspec, is pleased to offer a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunity for Occupational Therapists specialising in home modifications. This in-depth 4-hour, in-person training, delivered by a member of the Qspec Team, will cover a wide range of home modification solutions, showcasing Qspec's collaborative efforts with therapists, clients, and funding bodies. Attendees will gain practical insights, grounded in real-world experiences, through case study examples of optimal outcomes designed to enhance client independence.
Participating Aidacare showrooms will feature a functional bidet for live demonstrations, facilitating discussions on its benefits and key considerations.
The training will also provide valuable insights into Minor Modifications and Assistive Technologies, along with a practical understanding of relevant building legislation, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
There will be an opportunity to network with colleagues during the break for morning tea.
This training is perfect for OTs who are new to home modifications, those looking to sharpen their skills in this area, or anyone eager to explore a wider range of building solutions and assistive technology options. Participants will leave with key takeaways to ensure a seamless referral process through the Aidacare Home Modification Team.
Learning Objectives:

a. BCA (Building Code of Australia) and housing classifications

- Client Solutions with a Focus on Environmental Considerations, including but not limited to:
a. Minor bathroom mods: grab rails, hand-held showers, drop down shower seats
