Red Young, having grown up in the fertile musical ground of Ft Worth TX with it’s mix of classical (Van Cliburn), Jazz (King Curtis, Ornette Coleman, Dewey Redman), blues (Delbert McClinton, Freddy King), swing and western swing (Tex Beneke, Bob Wills, Willie Nelson) and many other eclectic styles, he absorbed the diverse musical styles on piano from age 3 through high school.I n 2000, Red returned to another one of his loves, the Hammond organ and eventually moved back to Texas in 2002 – Austin to be specific where he concentrated on Jazz and Blues and toured again with Eric Burdon and the Animals and Marcia Ball in between developing a loyal following and influencing many younger keyboard players to play the Hammond B3 in Austin. Red is extremely proud of his part in the development of a scene around his iconic instrument.
