Boom is back for 2023, bigger and better than ever, and with a new name due to the transitionto Carle Health from UnityPoint Health.
Carle Health Red White and Boom, brought home by Adam Merrick Real Estate is the area's
largest event which attracts an estimated 200,000 people to the Peoria and East Peoria
riverfronts for a massive Fourth of July fireworks display. The fireworks show annually ranks
among the top 2% in the nation.
Music, food and drink vendors, and other entertainment surrounds the fireworks, which are
launched from a dual barge in the middle of the Illinois River. The fireworks shells explode to
the choreographed beats of music on six Midwest Communications radio stations.
2023 will be the 35th presentation of the event, which is open to everyone and is free of
charge. More updates will be added as the event draws closer, and can be found at

Midwest Communications and its seven radio stations organize the event in conjunction with
the Peoria Park District. It is supported by many community-minded sponsors.
In the event of rain or wind which prohibits the fireworks from being launched on July 4th, the
currently-established rain-date is July 5"h. Midwest Communications will notify media outlets
in the event of weather changes, and will also provide updates at www.RedWhiteAndBoom.us
and through its own radio stations both on-air and online:
