Join us for another round of round robin poetry conversation; this month we celebrate not only National Poetry Month but also Oklahoma poets whose voices have helped mold our local and regional scenes!
This month we are very excited to share with you:
--SPONTANEOUS BOB! An artist, poet, motion-graphic designer and occasional superhero, spontaneous bob is a two-time Oklahoma team member to the National Poetry Slam and founder of the Home for Wayward Poets. His work has been featured in a variety of galleries in Oklahoma (and numerous bathroom stalls) and he has regaled audiences across the nation with his poetic mix of humor, absurdity and real-life observances. When not performing poetry, making videos or saving the world, he lives in Norman, Okla., with his wife and two kids.
MARY B. GRAY was born and raised in Lawton, OK and received her Bachelor of Arts in both Journalism and English Writing, as well her Master of Public Administration (MPA), from the University of Oklahoma and her Master of Fine Arts from Oklahoma City University. Her work has been published in Ain’t Nobody That Can Sing Like Me: New Oklahoma Writing, Territory Magazine, and For the Sonorous.
Mary’s first poetry collection, Who Do You Think You Are? from Turning Plow Press was released during October 2022. And it won the poetry category for the Oklahoma Book Awards in April 2023.

QUINN CARVER JOHNSON (they/them) is the author of The Perfect Bastard (Curbstone Books, 2023), a poetry collection about gender, sexuality, class, and pro wrestling that was recently selected as a Lambda Literary Award finalist for LGBTQ+ poetry. Their work has appeared in Rappahannock Review, Right Hand Pointing, Cimarron Review, Red Earth Review, and elsewhere. Carver Johnson graduated from Hendrix College and currently lives in Tulsa, where they host the People’s Poetry reading series dedicated to protest poetics.
