Glass Fusing is a fascinating media, you can shape it, stack it, weave it or melt it into a puddle! Each student will learn about the glass fusing process in this valentines themed introductory class. No experience necessary and no previous glass cutting will be required for this intro level class. Each student will create a unique glass piece that will celebrate Valentines Day! The creations can be flat or slumped into a mold.
This class is suitable for adults, seniors, and teens over 16 years of age. Materials and Tools information below. N95 Mask is recommended for safety.
MATERIALS & TOOLS:
Due to the nature of this class, at brief periods of time students may be working with glass powders. This being the case, we ask students to bring an N-95 mask for safety. This mask will be worn while handling the glass powders and isn’t required to be worn for the whole class. The studio will have a limited number of respirators available for class use, however, if you are able to bring a personal safety mask, this would be recommended. Other than personal safety masks, all materials and tools will be provided by the Instructor, Nell Trask, or by the Arts Center.
FIRING POLICY:
The projects will be fired and available for pick up at Sangre de Cristo Art Center one week following the conclusion of your class, unless otherwise specified by your instructor.
