About this Event
WHAT is it? Stellar beats! Let's gather together, booze and drug free, and dance our butts off. It's a cosmic connection.
WHO is hosting? Recovery House is a team of people with new and long term recovery and we want to celebrate the Joy of Living.....with YOU! All folks from all fellowships, or maybe you are just "sober curious", or enjoy the vibrations of substance free partying. Space aliens strongly encouraged to attend.
WHY? We believe in combining the joy of dance with the purpose of living in recovery. We want to live our best lives, and help others do that too. We want to have a hugely visible presence of FUN, JOYFUL, MEANINGFUL life after active addiction.
WHY an OTHERWORLD fundraiser? Last year we created a safe, sane and sober Theme Camp at Otherworld in June. We are gonna do it again! To pull this off we need to raise money to create the space that we all want to chill in. Spreading the message of "fun in recovery" has long been a mission of our organizers and this mission is taking it to the NEXT LEVEL. We know we can accomplish two things: one, create a safe and supportive space at otherworld to offer fellowship and recovery to all who want it and two, have a hugely visible presence of FUN, JOYFUL, MEANINGFUL life after active addiction.
Join Recovery House as we party substance free to the talents of:
730-830 Skye Fox
Starting funky then throwing down the bass
830-930 Lucy Ford
Lucy Ford has been mixing dance music for 2 decades. Getting her start in the Toronto scene, she has circulated between university radio stations and dimly-lit rave spaces, blending house, drum and bass, breaks, UK garage, halftime d&b and UK funky beats, most recently experimenting with live flute accompaniment. Over the past 10 years, she has been featured on west coast stages including those hosted by her company Footwork Entertainment in Victoria, BC.

930-1030 Chris Bigelow
Chris Bigelow is a Nanaimo based house music performer and producer who has been performing in clubs, parties, and festivals across the province since finding his love for electronic music in the 90s. His high energy sets are known to energize the dance floor, bring smiles to the faces of house music lovers, and delicately fuse his love of percussive rhythms with the organic and sensual passions of Latin melodies, the dirty grooves of funk, and the nostalgia of classic dance chords. For those true house heads in the crowd, Chris Bigelow will not disappoint.
