----------
Barry Reid is a guitarist, producer, sound engineer, composer, and music tutor from Inverness-shire in the Highlands. Starting out as a participant in the Fèis Rois movement, Barry went on to co-create bands Croft No. Five and Treacherous Orchestra, and has collaborated with many talented musicians and bands, including Lauren MacColl, Innes Watson, Halcyon, and Event Horizon.
Alongside his progression as a musician, studio recording and music production have developed into his primary role. Over the years, Barry has gained a wealth of experience in engineering and producing records with many of Scotland’s finest musicians. He has worked in some of the country’s best studios, including Glo-Worm Recording and Gorbals Sound in Glasgow, and Blackbay Studio in Lewis. In addition, with his own studio, Rose Croft Recording, he continues to expand his extensive discography of albums.
Barry has also released his own solo album, Breathing Space - an album of tune compositions based on sampled nature sounds from his local rural landscape, blended with electronic textures and rhythms.
