A half-day seminar with:
Dr Ebun Joseph, a Diversity and Race relations consultant, Founder and CEO, Institute of Antiracism and Black Studies (IABS), Module Coordinator and Lecturer, Black Studies at University College Dublin (UCD), and founder & Chairperson, African Scholars Association Ireland, AFSAI (2018-2022). Ebun is an author, TV panellist, columnist and an equality activist;
Yvon Luky, Migrant Plus, is the founder of the Minority Health and Wellbeing Initiative. He has a keen interest in mobilising and empowering ethnic minorities to address health issues disproportionately affecting their communities. After graduating as a medical doctor in his native DR Congo, he had an active involvement in the fight against HIV/AIDS. His Master’s Degree in Public Health from UCD is instrumental to his engagement with ethnic minority communities on issues affecting health;
Chipo Harper, Migrant Plus, has a Masters in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has experience of delivering mobile HIV testing and working with families and those living with HIV in Zimbabwe;
and Richard Carson, CEO of ACET, has qualifications in a wide-range of areas including Pharmacology, Education, Management of Community and Voluntary Organisations, Health Promotion, Ecumenics and Theology, Ministry & Mission. These include a prize-winning Master’s dissertation for Trinity College Dublin on HIV Prevention.
This event takes place in The Exchange, the large building at the very south end of Gardiner Street adjacent to the elevated railway line. Enter through the large blue gates to the right of the building; the door to reception is at the side of The Exchange.
There is bike parking inside and Busáras (including Red Luas Line) and Connolly Station are nearby.
There is no car parking at the building, though the Irish Life Car Park Entrance is adjacent.
