When do you think about costume for your productions? Is it an integral part of the concept and design process?
Is it integral to character and narrative development?
Or are you frantically searching for the right outfit at the last moment?
Are you a small scale company or independent artist who would like ideas and starting points for costume design and some skills for making?
This short workshop will be an introduction into how to approach costume for performance. The session will be tailored to who is present and what people bring. We can work on specific projects or more general brainstorming.
We will get moving with different materials to see how they influence character/ways of moving.
There will be a creative and practical element to the workshop with a chance to learn some practical skills.
We will have an opportunity to share practice and inspire each other.
