We will be starting this event with a Presentation by Meghan McNamara, the Co-Organizing Director of Virginia Organizing and the Williamsburg Area Chapter Organizer. Virginia Organizing is a non-partisan statewide grassroots organization dedicated to challenging injustice by empowering people in local communities to address issues that affect the quality of their lives. They are the group addressing ICE issues.
***We are taking "RESERVATIONS" for Reclaim Our Vote postcards for our party on September 7th at 2pm at the James City County Recreation Centre, located at 5301 Longhill Road, Williamsburg. The local organizer needs a commitment to know how many cards to reserve for us. Email us at [email protected] to let us know how many you would like to write. The postcards are organized in multiples of 30, but we can make accommodations. The postcards will be provided free-of-charge but we will pay for the postage individually. If you cannot stay and write the postcards with us at the party, you can pick them up and mail during the dates provided. If you cannot write postcards, we would appreciate donations of postcard stamps for this effort. Thank you!***
"Reclaim Our Vote is a grassroots, primarily volunteer-run campaign that focuses on increasing BIPOC voter turnout through post-carding, texting, and phone banking. Working with local, on-the-ground partners and our Democracy Centers, we build effective, respectful, and relevant campaigns that engage BIPOC voters around upcoming elections."
This post carding effort reaches voters that other groups are not directly targeting. THAT IS WHY THIS IS SO VITAL, TO REACH VOTERS OTHERS ARE NOT.
