Rebranding Menopause is a holistic lecture exploring the truth about menopause. Like how women have taken ownership of their birthing experiences, moving away from the more clinical practices of the past, we aim to empower ourselves with knowledge and understanding of our physiology to go through peri-, meno- and post-menopause.
This interactive and experiential lecture will explore mindsets, cultural perceptions, and ancestral beliefs. We will delve into essential facts about our bodies from Western, Eastern, and Indigenous perspectives. “I feel that we should have known better, as where there is fear, there lies truth. Menopause should be rebranded, renamed, and given another outfit,” says Oda, a Holistic Health Therapist.
Be guided through a holistic exploration of the stages of menopause from the perspective of the body, mind, and spirit. Not only will we go into but also beyond the physical symptoms, like hot flashes and low libido. This is to dive deeper and understand the root causes. Moreover, you will be invited to experience how everything in menopause unfolds organically and uniquely transforms your body and mind. Last, we will touch upon hormonal changes, their meaning, and how to manage them. The lecture will be complemented by guided meditation and thought-inspiring questions.
Facilitator/Speaker Bio:
Oda Meiberg is a Holistic Health Therapist specializing in Eastern alternative medicine. She has worked closely with women for the last 20 years, assisting with births as a doula and offering healing modalities like Watsu, Shiatsu, and Chi Nei Tsang. Her experience extends to educating women on life-changing events through private sessions, group courses, and women's circles. As she celebrated her 50th birthday, she began teaching at the Zen Shiatsu School on the "extra wonder meridians," whose role is supporting the menopausal transition.
