Well that was humbling.The Packers played poorly against a mediocre Panthers squad and dropped a tough one last week, but thanks again to everyone who showed up at 10am (!) to join us over at JP's. As always, it was fun meeting and seeing all the Packers fans as we took over JP's back room!
This week we get a tough opponent in prime time, as the 6-2 Eagles journey to Lambeau to take on the 5-2-1 Packers. The Pack are slight favorites in this one, but I suspect it may be a back-and-forth battle!
I know it's tough to get over to Santa Monica on a Monday night and parking may be tricky too, but please try to join us for this pretty important game! With it being a Monday night, we may not have run of the back room (still confirming) but we'll definitely have a group there to root on the Pack and bust out the music for touchdowns and whatever else. Hope to see you there!
***ANNOUNCEMENTS***
-It appears we'll have run of the back room at JP's for most (all?) games- so I'll just ask that everyone please PLEASE try to make others feel welcome by letting them know when seats are open and moving open chairs out from the edges of the room into spots where folks can sit down. There's nothing more discouraging than seeing open chairs and people not thinking they can sit in them. I'll do what I can, but I need everyone's help!
-Whether you're sitting or standing and watching the game, please be aware of your physical surroundings and JP's staff running food orders to and from the kitchen and taking trips to their back offices! We've had a few close calls- let's keep the contact on the field and out of the bar!
-As you may have noticed, parking around that part of Santa Monica can be tricky. Uber/Lyft/etc is highly encouraged, as is getting there early enough to find a spot if you are driving.
-JP's has added some brats to their food selections, though I don't think they're officially on the menu. Feel free to order one and give it a try! Get some fries too, or whatever your favorite side is. Unlike Mom's Bar, no outside food is allowed, so if you're not ordering something there please eat before or after the game!
-I am always open to song requests! Especially if you have something Packers-related, I'm happy to find it on Spotify and give it a play during a commercial break!
(Again please note: We have "officially" relocated the group to JP's Sports Bar and Grill at 925 Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica! It's got plenty of space and TVs and a full bar, and it's just 2 miles from Mom's so we're staying nearby. Mom's will not be open for the game and has shut down for good.)
