What is really happening when we 'fall in love' and then seem to 'fall out of love'? What's REALLY going on when a couple fights and is so certain that they have married the wrong person or are convinced their partner is just too different from them?!
In our relationship course we will delve into the anatomy of attraction, love and conflict so you will have a new and deeper understanding of working with couples and the tools to move a couple's conflict into connection and compassion. As therapists we are so similar to the couples seeking our help...in that our desire to help a couple and understanding them is not enough! Like couples, we need the skills and tools to help create a 'new experience'. In Imago we learn and embody the skills to create and sustain Safety and Connection.
Together in our course we'll go deep into the agenda of intimate relationship and conflict and learn how to guide and accompany a couple into transforming their relationship from reactivity and conflict.. into developing a conscious, connected and passionate relationship. • As a trainer, Rebecca created a very immediate communicative experience with her genuine presence. This established a friendly and safe environment for learning and training. The group dynamics evolved into a pleasant and supportive atmosphere, and the trainer always plays a very important role in this. Thank you for this!
• The primary insight was the realization that creating safety in therapy is absolutely crucial for any development or change to take place in clients. It also became clearer that structure plays a significant role in therapy, as well as in shaping and directing relationship dialogues. The Imago dialogue method excellently supports the neutral stance that is both necessary and expected of the therapist. The stages of reflection, validation, and empathy were well reinforced through practical exercises. A significant realization for me was that the therapist’s energy plays an important role in the success of relationship dialogues.
• Always see pain, fear and loss of connection under the anger and conflict. Security and slow tempo is the base of good couples therapy. Therapist encouragement and repetitive appreciation is also important not only the couples appreciation dialog. Rebeccas role model how to go deeper and deeper whit the couples work was very impressive, inspiring and empowering.
• I learned to understand IMAGO more. I really liked the exercises, I got to feel the imprtance of slowing down and being present, I took with me the idea about energy in the room (focus on where is my energy, how to change the energy). Thank you for inspiring!
• Slow down, do not hurry, do not forget that they are in pain, I liked dyads ja appreciation task.
• I recently looked up initmacy triangle - and after Rebeccas ispiring lecture I unsderstand it even more - how important safety is, and why it is the first thing in everywhere. But, I think most I learned how tempo is my energy and how to create it - structure and predictability - when client knows whats going to happen, its already safer.
