This event is to create space and community around the realities of voting - who is left out, what it means, when does it happen, where does accountability occur, why should we, and how does it even impact our lives? The reality is - people have been let down by voting, voting does not solve all our problems, and folks are actively disenfranchised from voting. Let’s listen to one another, and maybe collectively we can make the system better. We’re gonna make our own protest signs, hear political poetry from When the River Speaks, dance to Attic Ted, and talk to one another about the issues facing San Marcos. We’ll have a booth set up to vote on the worst issues in town as well as to register voters in Hays County, and a community board to tell us why you do or do not vote!
