About this Event
This session makes a positive, rights-based case for asylum and refugee protections and provisions, grounded in dignity, fairness, and human rights.
We will explores the realities of the UK asylum system, challenges common myths and misinformation, and supports practitioners to respond with confidence, accuracy, and compassion.
The training aims to:
- Build understanding of the asylum process and key terminology
- Explore the lived and human realities for people seeking asylum through a rights-based lens
- Support participants to identify reliable sources of information and distinguish facts from myths
- Increase confidence to engage in difficult or challenging conversations about asylum while upholding human rights and dignity
