Ready2RecoverCNY (R2RCNY) will be hosting their next Resources and Connections meeting from 6:00 to 7:30 PM on Thursday April 10 at the Prevention Network conference room in Syracuse. R2RCNY’s Resources and Connections night is a free evening of resources and support for those affected by a loved one’s addiction as well as an opportunity for CNY organizations involved in treatment and prevention to connect in order to better serve the CNY community. Free Narcan training and kits will be available.
“Addiction not only traumatizes individuals but their families as well. explains R2RCNY Co-founder Darlene Endy. “Often feeling guilt anger anxiety and despair family members struggle to understand their loved one and wonder what they can do to help. Our Resource and Connections Night is designed to help family members find answers community resources and help heal family members from the trauma of living with or loving someone with an addiction.”
R2RCNY Co-Executive Director Colleen Buxton adds "Would you know what to do or how to help someone if they reached out to you for help with their addiction or for help for their family member? When someone has the courage to ask for help time is of the essence. It is easy to be overwhelmed with the online searches for help. Attend this meeting to be prepared and know how to get your friend or loved one the help they need when they need it."
The meeting is open to everyone in the CNY community including those who have a family member or loved one struggling with addiction and those who are part of a CNY organization or governmental body involved in addiction treatment and/or prevention.
