Ready or Not

Ready or Not: A one-man musical and theatrical show featuring original songs, stories, and scenes focused on the process of aging. Drawing on his experience as a septuagenarian who has spent the past 50 years as an independent performing artist juggling words and music for a living, Harst presents an upbeat, hour-long show woven around seven, original topical songs, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, dulcimer, mandolin and flute. Part memoir, part musical, part observational comedy, the piece explores various aspects of the aging process, balancing positive thinking with a clear-eyed awareness of the growing presence of illness and death in the lives of our elderly.
