At the center is Nella, the unflappable “Holla Hotline” specialist, just trying to do her job while a chorus of voices reveals the unspoken truths of their daily existence.
What began as a single monologue, “Busted Tailight”—first accepted to the Columbus Black Theatre Festival in Ohio—has grown into a full-length play that resonates with humor, honesty, and heart. While the stories may not make national headlines, they shine a powerful light on the subtle, constant experiences that define the lives of Black Americans.
