Reading Party at Fable

Whether you're on your 86th book of the year, or you've been slowly making your way through that novel on your nightstand for the past six months...if you're here, you probably like reading, or just wish you had more time to do it!

But aren't most things better when shared in a community? And if you struggle to find time to read, wouldn't it inspire you to dive into a book surrounded by others doing the same?

How does a Reading Party work?

You bring a book of your choice that you'd like to read. Then, you'll grab a seat in our cafe and spend time reading quietly while the tunes of our special, reading-friendly playlist float in the air. After 30 minutes of reading, you'll gather with a few other readers and chat about your book and what you just read. Reading can lead to some interesting and lively conversations and you might just make some new friends (it tends to happen at our events!). Then, we'll do one more round of reading and sharing so that you can leave with some real reading progress, and have great conversations.

What else can I look forward to?

If we haven't tempted you enough already, attendees also get 10% off any of our books for the evening, so come early to have a browse!

On top of that, you can enjoy a delicious dinner as our kitchen will be open to whip you up a scrumptious supper. There'll also be a selection of beverages to make the evening even sweeter, like natural wines, hard kombucha, non-alcoholic kombucha, and more.

If you wish, please do join us a little earlier from 6-7pm for some pre-event mingling. A chance to grab a bite to eat, drink, and meet others with similar interests.

Fable is a wellness cafe and English bookshop in Lisbon. We offer colorful, delicious meals, specialty coffee, natural wine, cold-pressed juice and a thoughtfully curated selection of both fiction and non-fiction books.
