Reading Group at Art + Practice: Sula

Helen Cammock: I Will Keep My Soul at Art + Practice features film, poetry, performance, archival documents, and books rooted in the social history, geography, and community of New Orleans, a place the artist visited for the first time in January 2022. The books, including Toni Morrison’s Sula, form a constellation of voices and are pivotal to the exhibition. Tameka Blackshir of Reparations Club will guide readers in a discussion of Sula. Participants are recommended to read the book in advance to facilitate discussion and books will also be available for purchase on site from Reparations Club.
