Do you have a young child who may enjoy reading to a special dog? There are upcoming sessions with R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) at the Morehead City Public Library!R.E.A.D. is a program that uses therapy dogs in a calm environment to help children improve their reading and fluency skills, build confidence and overcome fear associated with reading aloud.
Children in first through fifth grade are encouraged to register for a 15-minute session to read aloud to Chester the dog and his handler. There is availability between 10:30 a.m. -12 noon on the following Saturdays: Jan. 10, Feb. 7, March 7, April 18 and May 9.
