About this Event
This monthly event is a chance to hear an expert speak about a book they have chosen and offer a greater depth and understanding of the book.
We have copies of the book so you can read ahead of the session but it's not essential. Writers and lovers of literature will especially enjoy the unpacking of this work.
You can take part in the discussion or simply sit back and learn.
This month, the featured book for discussion is "The Bloody Chamber" by Angela Carter.
Our guest presenter is Beau Smith-Davies.

About the Book
Published in 1979, her most notable work "The Bloody Chamber" is a collection of short stories inspired by traditional fairy tales. In her own reimagining, Carter skilfully unearths the more troubling elements of these age-old tales and teases them out to create altogether new stories, destined to horrify and delight the modern reader. Born in Eastbourne in the UK in 1940, British writer and novelist Angela Carter wrote prolifically throughout her life.
