Join us for the Kitchen & Culture Series at Rohi's Readery, where creativity meets community! Through hands-on garden-to-table cooking classes, we’ll honor each season, learn the magic of our ingredients, and embrace greener ways of living. Each session is inspired by powerful poetry and wisdom, creating a unique space for learning, connection, and joy.

About Alicia Garcia:

Alicia Garcia is a chef, designer, and novice urban gardener with a unique approach to education. Though not traditionally rooted in typical educational spaces, she strongly believes that learning can happen everywhere.

Alicia is deeply passionate about building community through her love of nature, foodways, and sustainable living. Through Project Flourish, she brings these connections to life, cultivating partnerships to deliver home economics and food literacy programming. She also hosts supper clubs alongside her husband, a fellow chef, and their four foodie kids.

With a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University and Fashion Design from Miami International University of Art & Design, Alicia ensures her gatherings are not only engaging but visually stunning. She creates spaces that excite and inspire, understanding that anticipation is a vital part of the experience. Her certifications in Plant-Based Nutrition, Nature-Based Education, and Safe Food Handling further enrich her offerings.

Through Project Flourish, Alicia’s goal is to inspire learners to connect with their communities, nourish their bodies and minds, and establish rhythms for a thriving life. She strives to provide the ideal conditions for everyone to flourish.

About our Reading + Leading Little Revolutionaries Program :

Age Range: All Ages- Activities vary in age range

Program Description: 

A free monthly program that offers the community a diverse range of activities including cooking, gardening, dance, STEAM, writing, art and music, all designed to enrich their literacy learning experience. This program encourages children to explore their passions, facilitate ongoing self-discovery, while developing leadership skills and fostering a sense of community.

Programming is FREE (paid for by Rohi's Liberation Station) unless otherwise stated on the event site. Donations are appreciated and will go back into Educational Programming and Services.
