Reading to a dog, or any pet, gives anyone working on their literacy skills a safe environment to practice their reading, make mistakes, and grow as a reader.At Read to a Dog, each participant has the chance to read out loud to a friendly and quiet therapy dog from Lend a Heart, Lend a Hand Animal-Assisted Therapy Group. Participants may bring their own books to read to a furry friend, or they may borrow a book from the library's collection.
