
About this Event
In this free workshop, families will participate in a variety of activities:
- Hands-on cooking demonstrations with seasonal vegetables and herbs
- Learn nutritional benefits of vegetables and herbs
- Start your own vegetables and herbs to take home
- Get easy tips for meal planning and preparation
- Literacy activities
- Q&A session for personalized guidance
In addition, families that attend will learn about the New Worlds Reading Initiative and how to become eligible for UF IFAS's Books & Cooks Family Course in Polk County.
New Worlds Reading is Florida’s free at-home program that helps eligible VPK - 5th graders strengthen literacy skills and spark a lifelong love of reading. Join us for information on how to apply and to take home a book on your child's grade level!
Workshop is presented by UF/IFAS Extension Polk County.

Cancellation Policy: Programs, workshops, and events are subject to cancellation if a minimum number of attendees are not registered. Cancellations will be posted on Eventbrite and an email will be sent to registrants.
