Join us on Saturday September 28th from 12pm-5pm at Major Taylor Skatepark to peacefully read at the park! There will be chairs, blankets, and other areas designated for posting up with a book, zine, or comic. Bring your skateboard or skates, and a friend! Take a moment to be outside and enjoy your place in the world.

Materials will be available for free or for low cost through Railroad City Bookmobile, a mobile distro maintained by Gluestick Zine Collective. Railroad City Bookmobile was funded by Power Plant Grants, a program of Big Car Collaborative made possible thanks to the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. We used our grant to purchase and update a 1989 Travelmaster RV. Throughout 2024 we've been imagining what a viable bookmobile with a focus on zines, comics, and general interest books could look like.

Gluestick Zine Collective has been Indianapolis' zines and small publishing advocate for 8 years. Our zine fests, concerts, workshops, zine jams and poetry open mics have brought many folks together in the name of community and creativity. However, we have never operated in our own space. We want to continue this tradition and continue to provide Indy with free to low cost materials, resources, and opportunities. If you've been to a Gluestick event--you know it's a vibe. We hope you join us on our new journey with the bookmobile! With this opportunity we can reach more people and have a homebase that is truly ours--even if it's a 35 year old rv stuffed with books.
