Read Between the Wines

Come join Women United for our first Read Between the Wines presented by Burns & McDonnell. Mingle with Women United Members, learn more about the importance of inclusive books from Author, Dayonne Necole, and hear from our benefiting community partner of Purses for Promse presented by Black & Veatch, Turn the Page KC.

This event is free to attend – but this is also a Giveback Event! Donate 2+ items (see below) or a $25 donation, you will receive 2 glasses of wine or non-alcoholic beverages on us!

Donated items include:

• Inclusive Children’s Books
• Inclusive Baby Books - board books or 'indestructibles' that have images of children of varied ethnicity and race, and that might be printed in English or Spanish or other languages (see below for examples)
• $25 gift card for Purses for Promise auction items

Donated books and general donations will go to our partner, Turn the Page KC. The mission of Turn the Page KC is to mobilize our entire community to ensure children gain the literacy skills they need to create a lifetime of opportunity, regardless of what school they attend or what zip code they are from. Their vision is for everyone in the Kansas City metro area to have the literacy skills to be successful in life.

Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win Two (2) free tickets to our upcoming Purses for Promise event of April 17th.
