On January 16, our first Read & Feed of the season will feature A Fall of Marigolds by Susan Meissner, previously scheduled for September. The novel intertwines stories of women affected by the Shirtwaist Fire of 1911 and the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. Their lives are linked by a beautiful scarf that is bedecked with marigold and which brings them to a peaceful resolution. The marigold, a symbol of resiliency, is also a fitting symbol of the beach communities' recovery after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. All are welcome. Reception and discussion are free; suggested donation for the resiliency dinner is $10.
