A festive workshop with a difference!
Working in adult/child pairs learn soldering skills to create your own light up Christmas tree decoration.
Our soldering workshops have brought parents, carers and grandparents together with their young ones to learn skills and build bonds. Learn about electrical components while soldering a small light up Christmas Tree. Each pair will be able to go home with their new decoration to enjoy!
Volunteer Simon will be hosting this workshop, following a career maintaining and repairing medical equipment Simon has been volunteering his time repairing items for our community and bringing his fastidious approach to teaching a new generation.
Included in the ticket price is 1 Tree kit between each pair, use of our equipment and tea, coffee, squash and biscuits.
Please note that we recommend that this workshop is suitable for children 10+ only and we reserve the right to refuse entry to children younger. This is for everyone's safety and comfort during the session.
Each ticket admits one adult and one child, every child must be accompanied in a 1:1 ratio as you will be working closely in pairs.
Things to note:
- Workshops are facilitated and supported by our wonderful team of volunteers and our house rules apply, please be respectful throughout.
- Varying age restrictions apply to our workshops, please see description for information.
- All attendees under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Tools required for each session are made available for use at your own risk, please ask for assistance/alternatives if you do not feel confident using them.
- Ticket price includes tea, coffee and biscuits.
- RE:MAKE Newport is a fully accessible venue, if you have any specific access needs please be sure to email or call us prior to the session and we will arrange our space accordingly.
