Ten-year-old pianist Letao Li is set to captivate the audience with the third movement of Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1. This young prodigy has achieved extraordinary feats, including winning the grand prize at the XIV Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, Connecticut, in the spring of 2023. She also claimed first place in the Franz Liszt Center International Virtual Piano Competition in La Nucía, Spain. She secured the top position in the Professional Division I of the third Barum International Piano Competition. In addition to her solo performances, Letao is a proud member of the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus, showcasing her talent in the Met's production of "La Bohème."Another talented seventeen-year-old flutist, Abigail Aranovich, a student at Staten Island Tech, will join her in the program. Abigail will enchant the audience with the first movement of W.A. Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in D Major. Her dedicated teacher, Georgette Ionesco, will guide her.
The concert will feature an exciting program, including Beethoven's stirring "Egmont Overture" and Schubert's haunting "Unfinished Symphony No. 8."
The Richmond County Orchestra will be led by the esteemed Maestro Alan Aurelia, whose impressive conducting experience includes performances at Carnegie Hall and various venues in Italy. This concert promises to be an unforgettable experience, showcasing exceptional young talent and timeless masterpieces.
