World renowned violinist, Royce Rich, is establishing himself as one of Canada's up-and-coming concert artists. And he is coming to the Rossland Miners Hall December 14th!
In July 2021, he was listed as one of CBC Music’s “Top 30 Under 30 Hot Musicians” for the release of his self-produced debut Spotify album of show pieces entitled Short Stories.
In July 2015, Royce was awarded the coveted Gabora Prize in Italy at the Casalmaggiore International Festival, and has since appeared on concert stages as a solo artist and chamber musician across Canada, the USA, Italy, and Germany.
He has performed as guest artist with the Brampton Symphony Orchestra, Lions Gate Sinfonia Orchestra, Durham Chamber Orchestra, Smazal Chamber Orchestra, and twice with the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra. Throughout the summer of 2023, Royce was co-concertmaster of the National Academy Orchestra - Canada’s top training orchestra for up-coming professional orchestral musicians.
Orchestral playing is one of Royce’s first loves. Throughout 2024, Royce was invited to assume the position of Principal Second Violinist of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra in Ontario.
Royce has also performed as a violinist with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra, Prince George Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the National Academy Orchestra, and The Royal Conservatory Orchestra.
Specially memorable compliments come from venerated violinist, Prof. Shirley Givens from the Juilliard School of Music, "..you are a very gifted violinist", Midori Goto, "...you have wonderful ears and fingers" and Itzhak Perlman, "....this kid's got talent!"
Royce says “the program that the community of Trail and the supporters of the Rossland Arts Council can expect is a classical recital program that will encompass excitement, thrill and sheer virtuosity featuring show pieces and encore pieces that reflect what the violin is fully capable of demonstrating at the highest level.
I’m really excited for Joseph to join me at the piano for our concert this December!”
Rich’s Accompanist, Joseph Stacy, is an American pianist based on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-watuth First Nations in what is now called Vancouver, BC.
He was awarded the Faculty of Arts Graduate Fellowship to pursue his Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 2021.
Prior to earning his master’s degree, he graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance/Pedagogy from Ohio University, where he was also presented with the School of Music’s award for Undergraduate Achievement in Performance (2019).

Accomplished as a soloist, collaborator, and pedagogue, Stacy’s career has taken him across the U.S., Canada, and Austria.

RCAC Performance Series 24/25 also includes:
88 Strings- Saturday, October 19th, 2024
-->88 Strings is a Canadian quartet that mixes traditional Chinese, Persian and Western plucked instruments, presenting new musical inventions and adventures written or arranged specifically for the group. Described by an audience member as "plucked string heaven," 88 Strings’ unique sound blends classical and world music together into enveloping and often hypnotic music. The ensemble was formed as an initiative of the Vancouver Intercultural Orchestra (VICO) in 2020.
Newberry and Verch- Sunday, November 10th, 2024
-->Joe Newberry and April Verch showcase tunes, ballads, step dancing, and original songs by way of Canada and the Ozarks. With beautiful harmony singing, breathtaking instrumentals, and exquisite dancing, these two singular musicians hit the stage in perfect rhythm, making audiences remember why this music existed in the first place.
Royce Rich Accompanied by Joseph Stacy- Saturday, December 14th, 2024
-->Listed as one of CBC Music’s “Top 30 Under 30 Hot Musicians,” Royce Rich is establishing himself as one of Canada's up-and-coming concert artists. Rich says “the program that the community of Trail and the supporters of the Rossland Arts Council can expect is a classical recital program that will encompass excitement, thrill and sheer virtuosity featuring show pieces and encore pieces that reflect what the violin is fully capable of demonstrating at the highest level.” Rich and Stacy will combine forces to bring us an unforgettable night of classical mastery.
The Pairs- Sunday, March 23rd, 2025
-->Powered by soaring sister harmonies, this quirky trio's unbottled chemistry quickly connects them to their audience. Renée Coughlin, Noelle Frances Coughlin, and Hillary Watson are the three distinct lead singers/songwriters of The Pairs. Together they offer a unique blend of music with stories of life's hope, hilarity, and hardship. These classically trained vocalists blur the line between the stage and the crowd as if we've pulled up a seat around their family's lively kitchen table.
Raine Hamilton String Trio w/ ASL Interpreter- Saturday, April 12th, 2025
--> A classical violinist and musicologist by training, Raine and their string trio offer string-quartet-like arrangements of Raine’s original songs. They call this chamber-folk, a hybrid of the classical tradition of string quartet chamber music, with the singer songwriter folk that comes so naturally to Raine. Prism-clear vocals + strings, reaching out beyond the earthly.
