Nightshades
Four musicians, Andrew Judah, Caleb McAlpine (Common Fires), N. Sherman, and DL Ranney (Kailee Duggan, Swamp Honey) have literally "banded" together to create strange and beautiful music. An equally scattered and unified cocktail of influences, experiences, and talents, nightshades is accessible, yet complex; brimming with psychedelic flourish, but grounded by hooks and pop sensibility.
Down the Lees
Down The Lees is a formidable post-noise-rock outfit led by Laura Lee Schultz. Originating as Schultz's solo project in Vancouver, the band has evolved into a dynamic trio, featuring Andy Ashley on drums and Chris Carlson on bass.
Their journey includes multiple albums, an EP, and singles, with highlights such as the acclaimed 'Bury The Sun' recorded by Steve Albini. Notable performances led to sharing stages with Brutus, Chastity, Dead Bob, and a tour invitation with the Sisters of Mercy in Italy.
Their latest EP, produced by Jesse Gander of Raincity Recorders, dropped on May 3, 2024, with the lead single 'Douse' winning Best Song at the OSIF Awards. Down The Lees continues to carve their niche with a blend of thunderous guitars and pulsating rhythms, showcasing resilience and musical prowess amidst global chaos.
"Down the Lees defy pigeonholing into any genre, unless “powerful and inventive” is now a genre to itself." - Metal Digest Magazine
