RAWC still has some dedicated wrestlers that are working out at NSFit during the summer months. Even though our 1st Annual Max Burch Cornhole tournament was successful, it is important that we mention some of our standout donors and parents that made it so successful. The Sierra Pacific Foundation recently added another $500 to our coffers thanks to Kelley McMichael and her wonderful job putting in requests for donations and putting together the silent and live auctions! Bucky Duggan (AKA Bucky Dun Gun) deserves an extra shout out for donating all his time to provide music and to be the auctioneer for our live auction. Coach Darren Stevens left a houseboat with a big group of wrestling alumni and sponsored some younger Cornhole enthusiasts as well. He is a realtor, so when you are ready to buy or sell, make sure you give him a call! Molly Shannon and Ila Wilkes worked the whole day setting up the sales of our silent auction items, original art work, T-shirts and more. Molly also attended a board of supervisor's meeting and got a board member and his family to participate. Leaf Argotti kept kids busy playing RAWCetball and our leader Dennis Conrad collected money for meals and beer throughout the tournament. There are many other parents and wrestlers that made the tournament run extremely well. You know who you are and how important it is to have such involved/dedicated alumni, coaches, parents and wrestlers!Our next big event will be the Lassen Campout on July 19th,20th and 21st. This is a free event covered by a grant from the Lassen Parks Foundation! Bring warm clothes, Sleeping Bags, Air mattresses (even though the cabins have cots) and any watercraft but all the food and tent cabins will be provided. If you transport three or more wrestlers RAWC will also cover a tank of gas! Come and enjoy the cooler weather even if you can only come up for a day. Saturday will be our big day with a trip to Lake Manzanita and a choice of hikes (including the climbing of Mt. Lassen) and a very competitive Cornhole tournament!
