Tervetuloa kävelemään rauhan puolesta YK:n päivän aattona 23.10.2025 klo 17! Vuosittaisista uskontojen rauhankävelyistä on muodostunut hieno perinne YK:n päivän juhlintaan. Tänä vuonna tapahtuma toteutetaan samanaikaisesti Turussa, Tampereella, Joensuussa, Jyväskylässä ja Oulussa.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - -
Ohjelma:
Kävelemme Toripolliisi-patsaalta (Rantakatu 6) Kauppurienkatua ja Rotuaaria pitkin Oulun kaupungintalolle.
Kaupungintalon juhlasalissa pidettävässä tilaisuudessa kuullaan musiikkiesityksiä, sekä tervehdyksiä eri uskontojen edustajilta

Uskontojen yhteinen rauhankävely on merkki ystävyydestä ja halusta edistää rauhaa Suomessa ja maailmassa sotien ja polarisaation keskellä. Erilaiset uskonnolliset ja katsomukselliset yhteisöt voivat elää sovinnossa rinnakkain ja luoda turvallisuutta yhteiskuntaamme.
Kävelyiden teemana on tänä vuonna hyvän tulevaisuuden puolesta. Heikoimpien tukeminen on monille uskonnoille ja katsomuksille keskeinen osa opetusta ja elämää. Yhteisöt luovat turvaa arkeen. Niiden merkitys korostuu erityisesti silloin, kun ihminen tarvitsee tukea tai suuntaa.
Uskonnot eivät ole vain hengellisiä instituutioita, vaan myös aktiivisia yhteiskunnallisia toimijoita, jotka tukevat haavoittuvassa asemassa olevia. Rauhankävelyillä haluamme muistuttaa, että yhteisöllisyys ja toistemme tukeminen ovat myös välineitä vaikuttaa ja muuttaa yhteiskuntaa parempaan suuntaan.
Kaikki uskontojen ja katsomusten edustajat sekä uskonnottomat ovat lämpimästi tervetulleita mukaan!

For a better future - Religions as support and security – Interfaith Peace Walks on the eve of UN Day across Finland
Welcome to walk for peace on the eve of UN Day, October 23, 2025, at 5 PM! The annual interfaith peace walks have become a wonderful tradition in celebrating UN Day. This year, the event will be held simultaneously in Turku, Tampere, Joensuu, Jyväskylä, and Oulu.

Program:
The walk in Oulu starts at 5 pm. at the statue of “Toripolliisi” (address: Rantakatu 6, 90100 Oulu) and ends at Oulu City Hall to an event together including music and greetings from representatives of different religions.

The interfaith peace walk is a sign of friendship and a desire to promote peace in Finland and the world amidst wars and polarization. Different religious and worldview based communities can live in harmony side by side and create security in our society.
This year we walk for a better future. Supporting the weakest is a central part of the teachings and life of many religions and worldviews. Communities create security for every day. Their importance is emphasized especially when one needs support or direction.
Religions are not just spiritual institutions but also active social actors that support those in vulnerable positions. With the peace walks, we want to remind that community and supporting each other are also means to influence and change society for the better.
Routes, speakers, and detailed programs in different cities will be confirmed later.
All representatives of religions and worldviews, as well as non-religious people, are warmly welcome to join!
