From the southern plains of Texas, Rattlesnake Milk summons the sound of the prairie—mimicking the howl of coyotes and the pulsing rhythm of a lonesome junk train.Frontman Lou Lewis first found inspiration while farming cotton for a family friend, recording an eight-song demo as he listened to the classics on KDAV 1590 AM drifting across the empty flatlands of his hometown. Those early recordings paid homage to Dust Bowl migrant songs and the haunted melodic gems of the ’50s and ’60s—and the band has been carrying that ghostly, timeless sound forward ever since.
