The Rasus Y Bannau are 3 races starting & finishing in Brecon. 100k / 5100m ascent, 45 miles / 3500m ascent and 26 miles / 2000m ascent. All routes take in the Bannau Brechiniog (Brecon Beacons) with the Ultra and 100k travelling into the wilds and Fans of Fforest Fawr including the fearsome Fan Gyhirych! The inspiration for the logo comes from Welsh Mythology. Arawn, king of the otherworld realm of Annwn, rides in the skies in early spring with the Wild Hunt. His hounds, the Cwn Annwn, chase the unworthy & wrongdoers into the ground until they can run no longer! Part of the old folklore saying for Arawn includes the line "Hir yw'r dydd a hir yw'r nos" or in English "Long is the day and long is the night". All of which seems appropriate for a tough mountain race - the time limit for the 100k is 24 hours, one day to outrun the hounds...
26th April is the date for the inaugural race. You can find more details on the event web page: https://www.runwalkcrawl.co.uk/rasus-y-bannau
