Learn about the fascinating history of the Rasey House, which is owned and lovingly maintained by the Beloit Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.When: Saturday, September 6, 1:00 - 4:00p.m.

Beloit's first citizens were determined to build a college in the fledgling city, but were short of funds to finish the first building So, they rallied together to build a home they could sell for a profit to help pay to complete it. They donated funds, labor and materials to build it. The limestone came from the Gage Brothers quarry which is now Krueger Swimming Pool. The cobblestones came from the bed of Turtle Creek, collected by Beloit College students. The sand used in the burnt lime mortar came from South Beloit.
