Oklahomans with a RARE disease are invited to join us in-person at the United Way of Central Oklahoma on Friday, September 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for an advocacy workshop! NORD staff will provide:
*Education on Rare Disease Advisory Councils (RDACs);
*A workshop on how to advocate when meeting with legislators and staff;
*An overview of NORD and how you can participate in raising awareness for the rare disease community!

***Caregivers planning to attend the Rare Action On the Road Advocacy Workshop may be eligible to receive an Educational Voucher to help pay someone to care for your loved one with a rare disease while you attend!
Sooner SUCCESS, in collaboration with NORD and the Rare Action Network could provide a $50 respite voucher for this 4 hour event.(limited availability)
Guidelines for Caregivers to receive Lifespan Respite Grant Vouchers for Educational Events:
* Caregivers are full-time, unpaid caregivers providing care 8 or more hours in a 24-hour period;
* Caregivers and Care Receivers are full-time Oklahoma residents;
* Care Receivers need alternative caregiving during the educational event;
* Caregivers must be registered for the event; and
* Caregivers must complete an application by 9/25.
Vouchers are not a stipend. Caregivers are not eligible for an educational voucher if they are receiving a stipend to attend the event or being paid in any other way.
Vouchers are not available for children /adults who are attending school during the event, on waivered services or receiving DDS Adult Day Services.
