Join the Secret Garden hawks, owls, and tiny falcon at NatureFest hosted by Friends of Runnymede Park and the Herndon Department of Parks & Recreation. Stop by our tent to meet our hawks, owls, and tiny falcon up close and personal, hear their individual stories, and learn what we can all do to help them thrive in our increasingly human world. You might even get to take apart an owl pellet (bits of undigested fur and bones regurgitated by owls after a meal) to find out what some wild owls have been eating. Or, you can just get a selfie with your favorite bird of prey. But that’s not all. This fun-filled afternoon at NatureFest, is a hands-on, family-friendly event that brings the wonders of Runnymede Park to life! Discover the plants, animals, and insects that call the park home through interactive stations, games, and nature-themed activities – all while enjoying the park!
This event is hosted by Friends of Runnymede Park and the Herndon Department of Parks & Recreation. For more information about the activities, parking, or to volunteer at one of the stations, go to https://www.herndon-va.gov/departments/recreation/special-events/naturefest.
