About this Event
Cellist Raphael Wallfisch and pianist Simon Callaghan are familiar names to music lovers. Active for many years on the British and international scene, it is a particular honour to welcome them at Clare Hall. Beethoven's third Sonata is one of the best loved works of the cello repertoire. Chopin’s Sonata is a relatively rare work. One of his few ventures of the solo piano, it is one of his last works, written at a difficult time of his life, when his relationship with George Sand was coming to an end.
