Raphael and Caravaggio: two geniuses in Rome in XVI and XVII centuryWe invite you to a very special visit: we will compare two geniuses who have revolutionized the history of Art: Raffaello Sanzio (1483-1520) and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610).
We will visit three churches: Santa Maria della Pace, San Luigi dei Francesi and Sant'Agostino and we will admire masterpieces and tell you about the biography and the work of two artists whose years spent in Rome will change the next artistic panorama forever.
It is hard to conceive of two more different characters; Raphael defined 'the divine' and Caravaggio 'the cursed'...this peculiarity of theirs will make the visit even more suggestive.
From the splendid Raphaelesque Sibyls of the Chigi Chapel in Santa Maria della Pace, to the majestic prophet Isaiah of Sant'Agostino to the spectacular Contarelli Chapel in San Luigi dei Francesi, we will fill up with incredible beauty!
