Join us on Friday 10th October at 7:30pm in the Hanging Gardens for an evening with Rapasa Nyatrapasa Otieno – a Kenyan multidisciplinary artist whose work spans music, storytelling, dance, visual arts and instrument making. A virtuoso of the nyatiti, the eight-string lyre of the Lüo people, Rapasa’s performances weave together traditional East African storytelling and contemporary artistry. His music has taken him across Africa, Europe and the US, with acclaimed projects such as KWEChE and Jopango blending cultural heritage with global resonance.
Through his organisation, Nyatiti NyaDala CIC, Rapasa continues to share and preserve the nyatiti’s legacy while exploring its place in today’s world.
Expect an immersive performance that bridges ancestral sound, movement, and modern expression.
